We understand that researching and coordinating events to attend can be stressful... so our holiday treat to you is a list of our favorite seasonal events, all in one place! Naughty or nice, this list is for you (wink wink).

1. Wreath Making at Chatham Berry Farm

This winter season, the Chatham Berry Farm hosts it’s Holiday Wreath Making Workshops all through December (check their website for available dates). Sip a brew in the heated Greenhouse Cidery while hand making & decorating a 12” balsam evergreen holiday wreath! Warm clothes advised - be sure to bring your own garden gloves! Mask optional event.
2. Holiday Pop Up Shop at Roots Holistic Wellness

Support local businesses and shop small Downtown Chatham! On December 10th Roots Holistic Wellness will be hosting a small makers pop-up event that runs 12pm-5pm. All types of holiday goodies will be available at Amelia Toelke’s Charm Stand, including handmade jewelry, artisan handmade gifts, macrame art, handmade beeswax candles, and of course kid's toy items.
3. Holiday Potluck, Caroling, and Tree Lighting

Columbia County’s Annual Society of New Concord Gathering is hosting a Community Potluck & Tree Lighting! Bring a side dish or dessert to share, then warm up your vocal cords and prepare to sing some carols! Once the atmosphere is very merry, gather at The Village Green for the tree lighting… to make things bright, of course! So they can get a proper headcount, be sure to RSVP the Society of New Concord through email thesocietyofnewconcord@gmail.com - there’s no limit for attendance.
4. Annual Christmas Cookie Swap

Cost: free - 3 Dozen Cookies (MINIMUM) Required for swapping!

Join the Society of New Concord & the Red Rock Historical Society for freshly brewed coffee and a morning of sweet treats all around! For the first hour, enjoy mingling with a hot coffee in hand while perusing all the cookies on site. At the start of the second hour at 11:30am SHARP - the swap begins!!
Bring three dozen of your favorite home-baked holiday cookies and enjoy a classic cookie-swap. Be sure to bring empty containers to hand your sweets out in (and plastic/kitchen gloves to keep things sanitary).

5. 2022 City of Albany Tree Lighting

Light up the night at the city of Albany’s Christmas Tree Lighting Event at Academy Park! Eat & drink FREE goodies from local vendor Cider Belly Donuts while enjoying the evening’s festivities. Partake in craft making, photoshoot opportunities, and live music performed by the Albany High School’s Albanettes & Troubadors.

Ten Broeck Mansion is a historic garden home originally built in 1797. In 1971 this building was added to the National Register of Historical Places, and currency serves as a museum & community resource in the Arbor Hill Historic District. Attend tours, events, art talks and more. Visit their website for more information.
Holiday House Tours:
The Ten Broeck Mansion is back with it’s Holiday House walk-through tours, open every Saturday & Sunday of December from 12pm - 2:30pm (one tour lasts roughly 30 minutes). Spaces are limited, so book your ticket online beforehand ( $5 adults, children & ACHA members have free admission). Book your tickets here.
Museum Shop
Take a piece of history home with you! Visit the museum shop and browse history books, locally made goods, and exclusive Ten Broeck Mansion gifts. Open Fridays 1pm - 3:30pm & Sat-Sun 12pm - 3pm all December.
Caroling
Sing your heart out on December 3rd with the Helderberg Madrigal Singers from 12:30pm - 1pm & 1:30pm-2pm. This FREE event takes place on the porch of the Ten Broeck Mansion (house tickets not included).
Food Collection
Drop off non-perishables and canned good during business hours to help those in need.
7. Annual Merry & Bright 5k Reindeer Run/Walk!
