A September Itinerary

1 min read

Early September, between Summer & Fall, is the most underrated time to visit us here at The Inn at Silver Maple Farm.

The weather is slowly changing, offering warm days and cool nights, and the garden is growing wild before the leaves start their show.

This is truly the perfect time to take a weekend getaway to our little farmhouse retreat, where the Hudson Valley meets the Berkshire Mountains and the countryside experiences are abundant.

Check out our itinerary below!

Start off with a day at Brimfield Antique Show. An annual tradition with something for everyone, Brimfield is recognized as the "Grand Daddy of them all" when it comes to large outdoor antique flea markets. It's a short drive to the field, and there is much to discover!

Tanglewood season may have ended last week, but the music plays on! One of our favorite local folk music festivals, OLDTONE is back! "Oldtone preserves roots music and traditional folkways through artist and audience participation; connecting neighbors, bridging cultures, and sharing insight and wisdom across generations."

Between antiques and music, you can go on a walk, eat a delicious meal, or come back to the inn and decompress in our Great Room by the fire. For more ideas in addition to our suggested September Itinerary, please ask our innkeepers for their recommendations.

We hope to see you soon!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge Silver Maple Farm was built upon Mohican (Mohhecconnuck) ancestral land.

As settlers on their indigenous homeland,  we have a duty to recognize the Mohican nation as the original stewards of East Chatham and beyond. It is our hope that this land acknowledgment will help empower First Nation voices and inspire others in the community to pursue a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable future for our country.

We seek to educate ourselves while contributing to the Mohican peoples by raising awareness and learning how to be a better ally against continued colonization. To learn more about their "Many Trails" throughout history, please visit the Mohican website here or if you are guests of Silver Maple Farm, peruse our decolonized bookshelf.
