Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge Silver Maple Farm was built upon Mohican (Mohhecconnuck) ancestral land. 


As settlers on their indigenous homeland,  we have a duty to recognize the Mohican nation as the original stewards of East Chatham and beyond. It is our hope that this land acknowledgment will help empower First Nation voices and inspire others in the community to pursue a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable future for our country. 

 

We seek to educate ourselves while contributing to the Mohican peoples by raising awareness and learning how to be a better ally against continued colonization.
